Hmmm...how to sum up the pictures...I know that there were a ton....but for those of you that we wish could've been here..but couldn't....maybe getting to see a bizillion pictures of the weekend will make you feel like you experienced it in person...:-) Maybe not.
Either way, these descriptions are for the pics both above on this blog and those below on the next blog.....
On Maddy's actual birthday (July 4):
1) My parents, brother and his girlfriend all arrived in the early afternoon
2) Played on Maddie's Airplane teeter-totter that my parents sent for her birthday (which explains the pictures below)
2) We ate at our favorite local Thai restaurant
3) Walked around Bandon, OR for a bit (which explains the pics below of Maddy..in my brother's arms..wrapped in a blanket)
4) Had fireworks in our driveway (which explains the pics below of us sitting in lawn chairs...covering Maddie's ears.)
5) Allowed Maddie to stay up until almost 11pm opening her birthday presents. She was absolutely HILARIOUS the entire time...exclaiming, "WHOA!" appropriately...reading her cards.....dancing her little heart out to every new noise-making toy she unwrapped!
6) Hopefully you noticed the totally awesome birthday crown :-) that Maddie was willing to wear on both days of celebrating...just had to mention it because it was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend. :-)
Okay...trying to keep this as short as possible, on July 5 we:
1) Went to Sabbath school, (Brent, Karen and I are leaders of Cradle Roll) and sang Maddie her "Happy Birthday" song in her rocking chair.
2) Went to church (where Omi Pahls and Mary Pahls--Herman's mother and sister--joined us--they drove down from Portland, OR that morning)...i.e. church pics are any with Maddy in her red and white dress.
2) Had her party after church on Karen and Herman's back patio. Maddie was in good spirits for her party...enjoyed her ladybug cupcake, loved having her best buddies around, and the whole thing turned out just splendid. :-)
3) After her party we went back to our house and played with her new toys again...so there might be some pics of that as well (if so..she's in her camo-pj's from her Uncle Chris)
Anyway, hope these bright, summer days find all of you happy and healthy! Thank you to everyone who gave gifts to our little girl...Thank you to my family and Brent's family for helping to make the weekend so memorable. Can't believe it has already come and gone....:-)

What a fun party! Love those cupcakes, and looking at the spread on the table (esp the corn) makes me hungry! haha.
